St. Jude Hospital, in Vieux Fort recently had a tragic explosion.  The hospital is currently operating in a field next to the hospital.  The volunteer quarters are currently being used to house patients.  Thus, housing is being provided in the town.  St. Jude Hospital is a family friendly place, which also provides meals in the staff cafeteria.  They often can place family member as volunteers in none medical pursuits.

 

The hospital is about a 10 minute taxi cab ride to a beautiful beach.  It is also possible to visit other parts of the island, such as the pitons (pictured above), the capital Castries, and world famous beaches such as Rodney Bay, which is often pictured in cinema.
